I'm Norma, and I'm Made For More.

Where did my love for my church begin? I’d have to say it was 2021 and the first time I walked through the doors. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. It immediately felt like home!

The more times I attended, the more involved I wanted to be. Volunteering for Guest Services seemed like the place to fill my need to engage, but then I kept hearing about UpStreet.

As a retired school teacher, going back into the classroom was the last thing I thought I wanted to do. It wasn’t until God provided a few subtle nudges that I decided maybe I was wrong. After meeting with the UpStreet Director, I knew this was the right decision and a perfect fit for me.

Speaking from a former teacher’s perspective, what’s not to love about the UpStreet program? On day one it became apparent how effortless this program is to implement. Even if you've never taught before, the lesson plans—complete with all necessary supplies, curriculum, and the Bible messages—make it extremely easy to follow. And then during our time together, we also get to participate with the Large Group team who excels in knowing exactly how to get the children excited and motivated to learn and follow the monthly message!

But without a doubt, my main love in UpStreet is the children and the meaningful connections I get to make with them. I love that I get to journey year-after-year with the same group and watch them grow. It’s a true blessing that I get to spend my Sunday mornings with them!

You are Made For More, too. Volunteering in our church is one way you can discover the more you are made for. Ready to find out what you were made for?
